The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has imposed sanctions on Iranian officials, including the minister of intelligence, accused of severe human rights violations after the country’s 2009 presidential election.
Along with Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi, other individuals added to OFAC’s Specially Designated Nationals list include Minister of Welfare and Social Security Sadeq Mahsouli, Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, Deputy Police Chief Ahmad-Reza Radan and Prosecutor-General Qolam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei. The sanctions freeze all assets under U.S. jurisdiction of these individuals.
