Nigeria Fires Anti-Corruption Chief - Corruption Currents - WSJ

Nigeria fired the head of its chief anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

No reason was given for the unexpected decision made Wednesday, according to reports from the AP and the BBC.

Ibrahim Lamorde, who served as the commission’s director of operations, will be the acting replacement with “immediate effect,” according to a statement on the Nigerian government’s website.
